Simply the best..

..moment of the day was when I made real progress at the swimming pool. Suddenly I was co-ordinated, breathing easily and moving nicely and confidently through the water!

I am so excited!

It reminded me of the moment when I realized I could ride my bike - that my Dad wasn't holding the saddle and I was on my own and doing it and it was OK.

What was your best moment today?

It's been a long week, coordinating my aunt's health problems & surgery today; dealing with my parents & their issues; watching the grandkids...a joy but exhausting. The best moment was when I knew everyone was where they were supposed to be, safe (I think.) I could relax w a glass of wine & They Left Us Everything. I find I'm reading sections to Jim because it just fits my life as it is right now.

I love the way swimming makes you feel stretched and elongated. I haven't been for a while and panic a little in the deep end as I am not a strong swimmer but there is pleasure to be had from gliding smoothly through the water.

My pleasure today will be collecting my new bicycle then I look forward to being out on the open road, wind in my hair, pedals whirring as I fly down the hills (and struggle up them)!!!

I have just finished reading a beautiful novel - The Still Point by Amy Sackville - I woke up early to finish reading the last couple of chapters - exquisite writing - this made me very happy.

I hope you've been whirring up and down those hills. What fun! Thanks for the book recommendation too.

Sitting under the apple tree with my book, Can Any Mother Help Me? by Jenna Bailey after I had jet washed the slimy dirty veg patch paths and brought them up like new. I'd forgotten the colours of the slabs and brick underneath.

Going for a walk and being given a handful of freshly picked peas by a neighbour - they were warm from the sun and I ate them all before I got home!
Well done with the swimming Freda!

I'm so glad you had a successful time swimming. It's raining here today for once forcing us inside. I have just got a huge pile of ironing done - not a task I enjoy. It's usually left to a Sunday evening! Also it is good to catch up with blogs, I don't seem to have much time on the computer at the moment! Sarah x
