and this fabulous one...
Could there be a more beautiful place to be locked-down in?
I'm not going to call it a lockdown, I'm going to call it a retreat. :-)
At last a sensible and sanguine article about coronavirus - a worthwhile read. See here.

Beautiful photos. Heather clearly has an artist's eye. Although the conditions are far from ideal, I hope you can enjoy your time. At least you will be able to work on the novel. It looks like France will soon be stepping up measures to contain the spread of coronavirus. There's a lot of psychosis going round and this article certainly puts things into perspective.

Fab pics! Heather’s and yours. Enjoy your retreat... what a unique time to be experiencing Venice. I wonder if you will find more of a sense of camaraderie with the locals in this situation than you might have done at other more touristy times?

Heather is clearly an artist with the camera. Looks as though Venice will remain quiet during your visit. A contemplative gift.

The photos are simply breath-taking Freda! You did mention awhile back that you had been considering another retreat...one never knows how life will evolve...there is a curse that many attribute to the chinese..but i hear it is not theirs: may you live in interesting times! We are certainly doing that! you’ve got a marvelous attitude about it all,, Freda..stay well! And don’t hug or shake hands with people.

Have you considered keeping a lockdown/retreat journal Freda? It would be really interesting for future generations.

They really are fabulous photos. I’ve been thinking of you all day! I’m sure that seeing Venice without thousands of tourists will be a good experience. Thank you for the link to that sensible article. As my sister in law pointed out today, they keep saying how many people have died, but not how many thousands have recovered. Her daughter lives in Padova, so her plans for visiting have been put on hold!

'Sensible and sanguine' has become our motto Penny. What a shame about your friend's plans. Thanks for commenting!
