Simple?

It is hard to be simple in a complex world.

I try to live simply and simply live, and I also try not to be simplistic, so the title I Think You'll Find It's A Bit More Complicated Than That made me smile and pick up Ben Goldacre's  book...so far so very interesting.

Meanwhile the garden is at it's most abundant and the chair needs rescuing from the alchemilla mollis....

I've often thought that this realisation comes to politicians. They go into it all idealistic, have to toe one line or another, and, if they ever get to actually govern, find out that there is so much more to be taken into account before decisions can be made.
At least with a garden the action to be taken is usually obvious!

And I often get fed up with being given the simplistic version by the media!

Hear hear. I am constantly in two minds as to whether to bother listening to any news or commentaries because they are either simplistic or hysterical, very few are clear and/or useful. Sigh.

How delightful to see the chair being embraced by nature! The world is undoubtedly becoming more complex, mostly due to technology (in my humble opinion). I dream of a one room, straw bale house in the middle of nowhere - no phones, no computer, no being connected to the grid. Simple - but definitely not easy!

It would be nice to retreat to every now and then!

I often think to live simple and simply live is (as we call it) a 'contradictio in terminis'. Most of the time it is complicated and hard work, requiring many thoughtful decisions. Yet I wouldn't have it any other way.

I saw the book is about science. That's one subject I tend to shy away from. Could you tell us about it when you have finished it?

That chair looks a lovely place to retreat from the complexity, even if you do have to share it with the alchemilla. It looks very at home amongst the vegetation. Is it as hot with you as it is here? (32°c at the moment.)

22 Lotta and hot enough for me! I have just enjoyed a gin and tonic on the porch....Cheers!
