There's a certain charm to the faded look, but a fine line between wabi sabi and just plain sad.

And there comes a time..

To splash out and start afresh!

There are other faded things which really should go - tea towels, tee shirts, a few old posters..

Joyful and summery! It's so much fun freshening up a space - do you do what I do and keep having to go in to have a look at it and feel that new sense of aliveness?

I do keep going in to have a look at a new painting on the easel...which does give a new sense of aliveness.

We stop seeing things don't we? I refreshed all the tired old paper globe lampshades when I suddenly saw them for what they were - dusty, yellowed, torn and well past their use by date.

Perhaps it is because the change is so gradual, then one day a shaft of sunlight or the view from a stepladder.....isn't it lovely when you refresh them?

i can't help going back over and over to admire a fresh change, either...it is uplifting to bring a breath of freshness into our spaces...i'm thinking...change means growth, and growth means improvement (i hope!!) hahaha
