I mean, why wouldn't you?
I think my new boots fit the bill..but I still haven't found a pair of slippers that are remotely joyful. Perhaps there isn't such a thing!

Oh Freda , your boots are wonderful ! Just looking at them sparked joy in my life . They look like they were made for dancing and skipping through life . They're the happiest footwear I've seen in a long time.

In the same spirit, wore my new brooch from the V&A yesterday. It's a chunky contemporary/traditional acrylic rose printed all over with more roses. Comes in 3 colourways for anyone who is interested and is £8.50. 6x6 cms.

Those brooches are beautiful. I think I will go and look at mine. Another good idea, Rosemary, thank you.

I remember buying a pair of hot pink ankle boots as a teenager. I adored them but could never admit to my mother that they were very uncomfortable! Also loved my friend’s emerald green Olof Daughters boots. Haflinger have some brightly coloured felt clogs which I use as slippers.

Love the Halflinger clogs Lucille, cheerful but still practical. My suggestion was a bit tongue in cheek!

Love the Boots, Freda, altho I would not be brave enuf to wear them, much to my chagrin. A young woman walked (pranced confidently) into a Home Depot with the most gorgeous slippers that were bright, vibrant, yellow fluffy feathers across the top of her foot. The feathers were in constant movement when she walked. I wanted to chase her down to tell her how much I loved them but I would have lost my place in the 10 deep return line. It was such a moment of joy because they were so beautiful and unexpected. I certainly wouldnt have been brave enuf to wear them in Home Depot.😂

It struck me perhaps your part of the world does not have Home Depots. “Home Depot, is an American multinational home improvement retail corporation that sells tools, construction products, appliances, and services, including fuel and transportation rentals. Home Depot is the largest home improvement retailer in the United States” so you can see how fluffy yellow feathery slippers might have stood out. 😂

My definition of joyful slippers are simply comfortable and warm. Bog standard M & S if you feel the need to dash out and buy some.

Maybe I will just stick to my Scandi socks

I love the boots too - I thought of getting some similar ones but they were made to measure and expensive so I held back. The shoes that spark joy for me are some turquoise converse (canvas sneakers) which I wear when going dancing. I also have violet sheepskin slippers like these ones which are a great comfort! https://www.moshulu.co.uk/ladies-bright-sheepskin-slipper-ankle-boot-p2897

The boots came from house of Bruar sale. Thank you for the links. Clearly, we both love coloured shoes. X
