Simply..a lot happened....

..during my recent blog break.

The new laptop broke down (which was the reason for the break), the electric blanket gave up the ghost, the juicer  bowl stuck to the base, and the sight in my right eye dereriorated further. Oh and the doors of my bus jammed shut with me still on it!

The laptop is fixed, I have a hot wter bottle, with a lot of patience I released the bowl from the juicer and clearly, I got off the bus - though it took a little time. The eye problem is not so easily solved alas, though some tretment is planned which may help.

Otherwise all is well, though it is taking time to get back into the rythm of blogging and I am still having difficulty posting photographs - but am working on it. I have had a few paddles in the loch and some lovely walks, and am still enjoying poetry and the shore most days.

As I was cooking some sausages today it began to snow - at last! So I got all togged up and wandered around the garden with a sausage on a fork.

Are you still in lockdown where you are?

What a lovely image: of you walking in the snow, with a sausage on a fork.
Good wishes for your eye sight.

Yup, still in lockdown and in Cambridge pent. Sausages are great things and are definitely part of my “we will get through this” kit. Together with a good dram this evening to mark Burns Night. I couldn’t wait for the haggy though, I ate that all up last week!

Sausages and snow, a winning combination! We are still in lockdown, only snow a sprinkling on the decking, although further west in Dorset there was lots. 2021 is evidently following in the footsteps of 2020! We discovered we had a water leak on New Years Eve.The water company and our insurers were very competent and we quickly found it was under the floor in our utility. We now have no cupboards or sink in there, and had the joy of finding out that beneath the Lino we have tiles with asbestos in them. We are now waiting for them to be removed. Added to the joy the washing machine broke terminally! A new one is being delivered today! This will have to be plumbed in the kitchen , where the dishwasher is at the moment. The tumbledrier is now in the conservatory, the fridge freezer needs to take the place of the table in the kitchen...Aargh!! But we have had a run of sunny winter days, so m trying to be thankful!

Sounds like one of those days where you really want to pull your hair out. Ugh. Thinking good thoughts for the eye treatment.

US doesn't do lockdown like UK. Every state, every locality has their own rules (or not). Which is why our numbers are so grim. DD just this a.m. heard a co-worker has come down with it and she was in close proximity with him last week (no choice due to the nature of their work) though both were masked, so now she has to get tested. As I have her young son here each day for virtual schooling, it increases the potential exposure for me, too, which is her greatest concern. Otherwise, I rarely leave the house. But then my DH works with folks who refuse to wear masks (he does) or socially distance themselves either, so no way I can stay completely isolated. Waiting for a call on the vaccine. My county opens up for my age group today. 🤞

We are so interdependent in this pandemic. It must be very hard to have to work with people who don’t realise the importance of the rules! Putting you all at risk. I hope you get the vaccination soon Mary.Stay safe.
