Simply..a smashing start....

..but like a true blogger I got the camera before I got the brush and dustpan!
(This was meant to be my relaxing first cuppa of the day.... the day did get better..)

Wonderful though the internet is, there's nothing quite like searching your favourite gardening books for the answers to questions like - do the leaves of celandine 'Brazen Hussy' disappear after it has flowered?

Or how hard can you prune a viburnum Davidii that has got a bit big for its space?

I didn't find the answer to either really. Do you know?

It is so good to be gardening again!

smash!! i can relate to that! last weekend i was helping my cousin "kondo" boxes of her mother's things which have been in her basement for years...we found some wonderful old pottery and china, much of it glued and repaired, which we thought we'd donate for potential mosaic artists to find. (hopefully)...isn't it funny how hard it is to throw away even broken pottery if it is beautiful?. we stopped to celebrate our progress with a pot of tea in one beautiful piece we found....only seconds after i had poured in the hot water and was walking across the room with the pot of tea, it fell off the handle in my hand and onto the floor!...of course...another old piece that had been glued....

Simply..a smashing start....
