Simply..Christmas....

There's no getting away from it now!

I was sent this today. For something a bit different take a look at GSA shop! I know I am sounding like an ad but am just sharing what I think are some lovely original ideas for gifts, the purchase of which support Glasgow School of Art which I love.

I also love the acrylic necklace at £20.

Even better than their online shop, if you can visit the Reid Building where the actual shop is you will enjoy the architecture too (this post and several adjacent ones) The work on the original Mackintosh building which was badly damaged by fire is under way and is in good hands with Page and Park.

It has started me thinking about my Christmas list....

Mackintosh designs are wonderfully captivating. It`s a really distinctive and interesting approach to design, art and architecture while still being practical.

Christmas shopping is underway here. Everything needs to be done before December 1st! I enjoy Christmas, and find it`s so much better when you can avoid the worst of the crowds.

I am sure you are wise to avoid the crowds! I also enjoy Christmas and can ignore all the frantic stuff!

No Christmas shopping "proper", but the Christmas knitting is well underway - and I have a small parcel ready for abroad! First it's getting sorted for Advent, working out what kind of 4-candle decoration to have this year, as I tend to go to extremes, one year supertraditional and the next superminimalist ;o
However, I will enjoy browsing the GSA shop and hoping to visit one day - how brilliant that the damaged building is being resurrected.

I look forward to seeing what you choose for Advent this year Swissrose. I hope you get to visit GSA some day!

The Christmas list, is it about wishes or about to do? I hope the first option.
The necklace is beautiful. I would have a difficult choice between the blue and the clear one.
A while ago I found the last update about the restoration works. Thought it quite impressive.

It's about who I want to buy gifts for, (but it might also be about dropping gentle hints to nearest and dearest!) And you?

Most gifts are already bought. Over the last years I keep an eye out for them from July onwards. Museum shops are such a good place for finding presents.

My Christmas wishlist is written - which makes it a much less gentle way of dropping hints- on request of my beloved. And you know what? Every year he succeeds in making me all teary eyed with something that was not on it...
