I have not done this, Freda. But what a great idea! I’m going to make a point of looking at our town with a visitor’s eye..i’ll pretend i am taking you around..:-)

Enjoying all those Mackintosh details and my eye keeps returning to that pink and white image at the top. But slightly disappointed not to see photos of you and Mary trying on the hats. :-)

i'm hoping for some Freda/Mary pictures, too. so often we get in a rut about where to go & what to do in our towns. showing visitors is a good way to help us try something different or even find something we didn't know about that's right there under our noses. what's routine/possibly boring to us might just be exciting to them.

We didn't take photos of each other except for one I took of (a reluctant ) Mary which didn't turn out well as it was dark! I think it's a great way to explore your own place and I certainly learned some new things.

Sometimes when walking I ask myself 'What would Roger Deakin (author of Notes from Walnut Tree Farm) have seen walking here?.' Which is kind of seeing through a visitor's eye.

Now that is a good idea Cath, and well done with your table runner.

I realise that I am not answering the question here, but I discovered that a former colleague of mine, Rab MacInnes, did the stained glass work for Mackintosh at the Willow. Here's a link to a radio interview with him for those who might be interested :

Thank you for the links Grace. I intend to look and listen. It really is a special place and I have just learned there is a roof terrace and gallery.
