Welcome back Freda. I also love country + city holidays and was fortunate to enjoy both this summer. I moved around a lot more than usual, so after sleeping in 14 different beds, was really happy to get back to my own! It's always nice to come home.

Grey's Court, York looks so inviting. As for coming home, I remember returning one day early one perfect holiday: 'home' calling us home.

Looks like you had some lovely weather for your sojourn to city and country. So glad you had a good time with your friends.

A bit chagrined to say that coming home from a trip usually means doing laundry and catching up on other chores, so perhaps not always as alluring as it might be. :)

There is that Mary - but it doesn't seem as onerous to me as all that needs doing before actually leaving! Apart from a wet day in York I was very lucky with the weather,

Did you go to Shandy Hall in Coxwold? We were there last month. Fascinating house with an entertaining, knowledgable and enthusiastic Sterne expert custodian giving a guided tour. Very much to be recommended.

We’ve been home in West Virginia for 3 weeks and now back at the cottage...i surprised myself by saying: “we’re almost home.” as we neared the cottage after many long hours on the road...it’s become home too!
