Simply..deeper into the season..

I do like what Lia Leendertz has to say in her December podcast As The Season Turns about our desire to hibernate in winter, and I also plan to take up her suggestion of preparing a nature table for the solstice on the 21st.

We have had little snow as yet and some brave sunny days.

I love the way the villas and large houses on the shores of Holy Loch give scale to the hills. Large areas of the forest have been felled recently.

Back in the 70’s my husband was at Holy Loch at the submarine base when their boat pulled in. I always wished we could have gotten stationed there. He really liked the people. He especially remembers being there during the Christmas holidays. Fond memories for him. I still have the tartan blanket he brought back for me. It has held well for 50 years.

Beautiful sunshine and it is always astonishing just what difference it makes to a landscape when the trees are gone. A section of road I drive regularly was clear felled after Storm Arwen and now the atmosphere is com0letely different. Enjoy your blog break.

I love how you encourage us to look more closely at all sorts of things. Here, for me, it's the light, colours on the hills and the scale.
