Simply..flow and the click point....

The last few days have flowed, for which I credit Alex Beauchamp's Do Manifesto as I call it. (See this recent post.)

Another favourite mentor, Marie Kondo, has me thinking about the click point. She says -

As you reduce your belongings...you will come to a point where you suddenly know how much is just right for you. (Page 144 and 145 in my copy of The Life Changing Magic Of Tidying.)

Have you experienced that point? That click point? It's a magical feeling! Stressfree and calm. It makes you smile and also feel rather proud of yourself because it's an awful lot of work getting there! (Well it has been for me..)

I experience it now in some parts of my home and I want and need to get to that point with the whole house and with the garden.

That's this year's work, and what I will focus on in the next few posts.

Meanwhile the kitchen looks like a harvest festival every day since I bought a juicer.

I am looking forward to those posts already. Especially now that the renovation is offering so much opportunity to simplify. I will like every bit of inspiration you can offer, I am certain.
So far I have only experienced the click point with my clothes and it is a magical feeling indeed.

I think once you have had that feeling you want more!

Isn't the harvest festival look uplifting? So much vitality - I hope it's infusing you with vitality on the inside too.
The only room I've achieved the click point in so far is the bathroom, but I've had that magical feeling at various points in the past too and it's really worth persevering for. Oh for stress-free and calm! The rest of the house is still a work in progress...

I guess life is a work in progress, but its good to have goals..

My new airing cupboard has the click point - I like a good balance of items and space wherever possible. I can see everything at a glance and everything has a place. That harvest festival looks very tempting. Look forward to your future posts on your space clearing, though I love your garden just as it is - it holds lovely memories of being there on a gorgeous sunny day.

That cupboard must be a joy to look at and to use. Alas the garden no longer looks as it did when you visited - it took both of us many hours, so I must adapt it a bit though hopefully it will still look good. (Expect some posts on the subject!)

i worked diligently with the kondo app from august to november last year...achieved a "click"point that lasted a good 2 weeks..then i suddenly had an intense burst of creativity which has lasted till now..but it has had the unfortunate side-effect of encouraging me to bring all kinds of cast-offs into my life, for re-purposing as art...i also find that people i barely know are offering me just the things i want and need...the universe of stuff is truly a mystery...your fruits and veggies sure do look tempting, Freda...perhaps i need a boost of that too...:-)

The explosion of creativity happened to me too Julia - just when Kondoing was getting good! A different 'spark of joy' I guess...

Would it have happened had you not been Kondoing I wonder? ( You'll never know...)

How interesting that what you need just comes to you! That will help with the 'keep in case it comes in useful' category - I can let them go and trust that if/when I need them again they will appear! Thank you for that Julia.

You can totally trust that everything you need will come in to your life. abundance is there for all of us...just as i was wondering how i could start using fabric in my collages last week...yesterday a fiber artist friend of mine arrived with 4 cartons (yes!) of fabric she was kondoing out of her life..(the stamps onthe boxes were pretty fabulous too.)

I had reached the click point with clothes and books, but not the rest of the house. After renovating the kitchen (not part of the house fire) I've now reached the click point there too. It is not a big kitchen so everything has to have a place, and be in it's place! It feels heavenly.

In the bathroom a click point for me would be that there is almost nothing in it. My family are not on the same page!

And I confess I am nowhere near reaching the click point with my paper work - it seems to just keep coming into the house and if one doesn't deal with it, it grows. Being self-employed means making sure I don't throw away papers that could be needed, so I pile things into baskets to be sorted 'later'. Has anyone solved this issue in their own home?

Ooooh Yes! 'Magic; and 'heavenly' are wonderful results aren't they?
