You have a lovely harvest selection. We lost all our tomatoes to blight this year. Still had some green tomatoes in the freezer from last year so my daughter made tomato chutney yesterday . Hope your sloe gin making goes well .. I tried making some once . Verdict was .."shame to have ruined a good gin"!!!

Thank you MaryB. Maybe with all the price rises of us will get back to making jams and chutneys et cetera. I can still remember the taste of my mums tomato chutney!

Shared my tree-full of Bramleys with my neighbours... the end of stewing, pureeing, storing is in sight. Bring on the apples and custard. Just made some plum jam too, 8 jars sitting side by side on the kitchen counter. Didn't enjoy it, but felt I had to - too miserly to let garden produce go to waste. Hope you are feeling better, Freda.

I think these jobs are nicer when shared. My sister and I once laughed our way through peeling and calling a huge laundry basket full of cooking apples, Out in heard Highland garden in September sunshine with the children playing around. I lovely memory!
