Simply..imperfect....

...but (to paraphrase FlyLady) even imperfect efforts bless your body.

If you don't look after your body you won't have anything to live in.

,I am so glad I gifted myself six days to concentrate on my health. (It does take time and maybe no-one else is likely to give that to you!) Time to consider what you need to prioritise, to figure out what suits you and how you can fit it into your lifestyle.

It's easy to be overwhelmed by the barrage of health and wellbeing advice, so much of it contradictory, and much of it taking the form of Only 10 minutes a day to.... Only 30 minutes a day to achieve.... Only 40 minutes etc but by the time you factor in work/childcare/household tasks/others' needs - it all adds up to more than 24 hours!

I am feeling lighter, both literally and metaphorically, and more energetic. I have come up with a new weight beyond which I will not go.  I am even more interested in the subject and in finding out more, and am I imagining it, or am I thinking more clearly?

The city again today, but wild and wet. Beetroot and goats cheese tortelloni with sage hit the spot today. How pretty is that? A starter size, eaten slowly, is usually enough.

Tomorrow - the pros and cons (from my very limited experience!) of retreats away or at home

Funnily enough, I was writing on this very topic in my morning (afternoon) pages yesterday. Have written down five park locations in my county to explore for possible walking routines, because I cannot spend time walking in circles on my street. The boredom of it will drive me insane. But it means driving 15-25 miles one way just to find places to walk as there is absolutely no place nearby that walking wouldn't mean risking your life (e.g. winding two lane roads, no sidewalks and very speedy, inattentive drivers). Sigh.

Glad that the time you spent focusing on health has left you in a good place--physically and mentally. Looking forward to the pros and cons list.

They do say America was built for the car, and that is a long way to go to find good walking. I hope you find a solution Mary..

Imperfect success...
Is there any other kind?
Only in my mind!

(Sorry, have been missing haiku workout!)

So glad you had a successful week Freda, with all its wonderful imperfections. I do love pretty food... must make more effort with my own...

What a week! So happy to know the appointment went well and looking forward for the next post.
Also, I'm not sure if it was mentioned here at some point, but Dr. Colin Campbel, leader researcher of "The China Study" points MD as one of the conditions that can be prevented or reversed by a plant based diet.

Could you also be thinking more clearly because of the book you’ve been working thru on a year to clear? Did you do that while on “retreat”? From what i have read, progress comes quickly. It osunds like all of your efforts are coming together to create a wonderul new path for you, freda....:-)

Yes I spend 5 minutes or so on that book each morning, making a few notes. She refers to the drip drip effect of it...I'm liking it - so maybe it is having an effect!
