Beautiful images in this video of peaceful sanctuaries that you would wish for everyone.
I have red gingham curtains in the bathroom in winter and changing them the other day I noticed how very faded they are. It crossed my mind I should make new ones but then I realised I actually like that they are faded, and I remembered wabi sabi. Beautiful images in this video of peaceful sanctuaries that you would wish for everyone.

Some years' ago, when I was sewing for a living, I was asked to make large floor-cushion covers, from huge antique petrol-blue velvet curtains, faced with a beautiful flecked straw-coloured Donegal tweed.

What a beautiful description of that wonderful sewing project! And thank you for reminding me of that book, which I have not looked at for a long time.

I like Beth Kempton’s book on Wabi Sabi. I think I’ll get In Praise of Shadows too!

I don’t know this one, but I like the idea of perfect imperfection!

I enjoyed the Wabi Sabi film and I, too, was captivated by your description of the fabrics, Susan in Dorset.

I looked up the Wabi Sabi book you mentioned Liz, by Beth Kempton. She is quite interesting and I am going to follow her on Instagram.

I love the concept to Wabi Sabi - you may like the film made some years ago by Marcel Theroux - now in You Tube here: https://www.google.com/search?q=wabi+sabi+marcel+theroux&oq=wabi+sabi+Marcel+&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUqCggBECEYFhgdGB4yBggAEEUYOTIKCAEQIRgWGB0YHtIBCTIzMDI3ajBqNKgCALACAA&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8#fpstate=ive&vld=cid:e6890c3d,vid:Z2P8z7kYJW0,st:0
