Simply..is it just me?

I have just given up, in a bad temper, half way through an online shopping transaction!

I would like to pay my money and have the product.

Simple?

NO! I have to register, create a password, enter a code, join a club to 'feel rewarded and feel involved' (?) sign up for emails, and points on future purchases which I have no intention of making, accept a free gift I don't particularly want and give my grandmother's uncle's middle name....

Forget it Body Shop.

Grrrrr.

No...it's not just you. I've been known to talk myself out of buying something online just because I don't want the aggravation you described. add to it unsubscribing from all those emails. I have to really....really want something before subjecting myself to all that. other sites, 2, 3 clicks & I'm done.

I suppose it is a way to cut down spending Cathy, because there are probably very few things I really...really want that much!

Grrrr indeed! I've done the same thing. I have to confess I've also done the same thing in person at the supermarket, halfway through checking out at a self-service checkout that was refusing to scan my items and then telling me there were 'unexpected items in the bagging area'... I ended up abandoning all my shopping with a queue of people behind me and just walking out!

Oh I can understand that! I hate those checkouts - they never seem to work for me, then I have to have 'assistance' that makes me feel incompetent and sort of humiliated. More grrrrr...

And you can feel everyone behind you getting more and more impatient while you wait for 'assistance' which makes it worse... GRRRR!

Something heard on a Radio programme 'Unexpected item in the bagging area .... Yes - a shop assistant'. Big grin.

That made me laugh! So true...

I know just what you mean, but I would complain to the company. They probably don't think that anyone could possibly object to jumping through so many hoops!

The more information an online shopping site requires, the less likely I will use it. And, like Lotta, I dislike self-service checkout and refuse to use them. First, you load the cart with groceries, unload the cart to checkout, bag the groceries, reload the cart, take it out to the car, load the car, drive home, take bags to the kitchen, and unload the groceries---7 times handling your groceries. No. Just no.

Just no. Just so.

It's a smart idea to stop right there, or they will continue to nag you with all that collected information, and usually delay the acceptance of unsubscribing requests for quite sometimes. It's impossible to believe that it isn't an automatic procedure!

It's a bit like being stalked.

'feel rewarded and feel involved'. My response is like yours "?".
Isn't that turning the customer/seller relationship upside down?
Isn't that just what the seller's drive should be when you decide shopping with them? Strange. Sigh. Too tired to grrr today.
