Spring will come and if I can bring it on a little earlier so much the better!
I couldn't resist adding the little bird to the collection when it arrived in the post with a packet of poppy seeds from a friend..
A little branch of cornus which I had picked for the January nature table because of its lovely dark bark has begun to burst into not just leaf but flower in the warmth of the room. So I picked lots of small branches to see what will happen - prunus, azalea, rhodedendron, skimmia, and I don't know what else as it was windy and rainy and I was just clipping randomly at anything that looked promising.

Your nature table le is filling up wonderfully and it will be interesting to see which twigs do produce leaves or flowers. I have certainly had flowers from cherry plum Prunus and the buds on the tree in my garden are swelling every day at the moment. Forsythia and flowering currant will both come into flower in the house though the flowering current flowers are white even from a red or pink flowered bush. I have Forsythia flowering in a vase with hazel and alder twigs at the moment which makes me smile.

Your arrangements sound delightful. I know where there is Some flowering currant And if it would just stop raining, I would go and get some. Good idea with water at every meal.
