there is a lot to think about here in this post, freda....esp the poignancy of your ponderings on the bigger questions...sigh......there are the joys, the sorrows, the unchangeable, the pleasures and the mystery of the winding path..so beautifully illustrated in your photo...

Both your words and photos are thought provoking indeed ! After a very tough year I'm learning to see life as sunshine and shadows and am coming to the view that maybe the answer to what is enough is always much less than we think.

My word this year is going to be ‘calm’. I feel we are in the midst of such turmoil in the world at the moment, so I’m going to do all I can to make my world at home, and my inner world calm.

Can't help it, first thoughts seeing that road were really prosaic: are you walking on the grass, is it a busy road and are you wearing reflectors on your coat or trousers? It seems awfully narrow.

It's a very quiet road Cath - you can hear any vehicle for miles before it arrives! Thank you for your concern though! Easy to make those pretty parcels by the way..

Your words are beautiful they remind me of a passage in one of my favourite books by Anne Morrow Lindbergh - Gifts from the Sea when she talks about grace.

oh viv….I love that book. back when I was spending a week at the gulf in January, I would read a chapter a day, then meditate on it while I walked the beach. amazingly, I did this for 5 years & never felt I was repeating myself. time & life experiences allowed me to see things differently.

Peace and happiness for the New Year, Freda. Thanks for all your lovely ponder rings and photographs which have given me delight food for thought over the year. I too had a wonderful relaxing Christmas with family, and visits from fiends. Like you I am trying to walk each day, yet trying not to be. A slave to the new Fit it that Santa brought.

My Fitbit isn't working but I know how many steps I do an hour and have walked for an hour every day this year (2!). Hope to keep this up! Thank you for your good wishes - I wish you good health.
