The light in this picture is so wonderful. I’ve just been sitting quietly looking at it for a few minutes, it really ‘invites’ you in!

I am so glad you are enjoying it PennyL! It was taken about 10.15pm - on less cloudy nights it is light even later.

At your latitude, you certainly don't need a night light for too much of the night this time of the year. Much nicer to have the soft light of a late evening.

I grew up in edmonton, alberta, canada, Freda..and when i saw this one, it reminded me of my childhood! Just had to look up the latitude for dunoon...and sure enough..almost the same as edmonton..do you ever see the northern lights?...there is nothing like the beautiful glow of a summer solstice night sky! (We are at 44 here at the lake, so no comparison!)

Yes, 56 here and the northern lights can occasionally be seen in our area but not by me as there is a big hill between me and the northern horizon - the hill on the left of the photograph. I would love to see the northern lights one day.
