I've always been a night-owl, but lately have been waking early and seeing for the first time how the morning light strikes things around here....a new dawning?
It is so different.
Have you tried this?
Or experiencing late night if you are a lark?

I'm a morning person, and think it's a beautiful time of day. Envious of your view, though!

I'm more of a lark, but sometimes I'm a lazy lark! I adore morning light and I always wake up much earlier than normal too at this time of year. I love that feeling of having the world to yourself and I don't think I'd be able to resist taking a cup of tea down to your beach if I was awake at dawn on a sunny morning!

Welcome to the joys of early morning, Freda.....for me, it has always been the best time of day...quiet....no one is about yet, and the birds are siniging their praises...

I don't know if I can keep up both owling and larking - burning the candle at both ends!

Lately I seem to have the best of both worlds, I am night-owling or I am lark- ing.

Ah, either/or is better than both. I do love silence too.

It has taken me years to understand how the light falls in this house, during the day and during the year. I have prisms at a westerly window and they bring rainbows onto the landing in spring and autumn but of course the sun is either too low or too high the rest of the year. I find it hard to stay up late but am always awake around 5am. Not necessarily up though!

Well, considering I get up most days at 4 am, I am definitely a lark. However, I do appreciate a great sunset or watching how fast-moving clouds can change a landscape so that you feel you are watching a sped up motion picture. Light pollution, while creeping in, has not quite obliterated the night sky in my area, so that I sometimes can stand on my back deck and still get a sweeping view of a starlit night.

That's even earlier than Lucille! I have cerainly seen more starlit nights than dawns....maybe that is changing.

Your pictures of the sun on the red table and yellow bowl are stunning...and I have read of the emotional connection to the table. They may be my most favorite pictures of yours. I like you so much, Freda.

As you know I am very familiar with early mornings and the way the light shines through the windows. I am not so familiar with the light in the middle of the night! Sarah x

Your dawn posts are usually the nearest I get to seeing it Sarah, and I do enjoy them!
