I've never forgotten a history lecturer saying - News is news because it's not the norm. . If it was the norm it wouldn't be news. Most of us live in the realm of the norm. Thankfully! :-) (I am not at all sure how this stands up in a time when norms have been altered .....but I leave you with the thought.)

This will give me something to think about....are the 'new normals' I'm sure that will come 'news"? Or how long will it be until they are not longer 'news'?

It’s almost impossible to define!! Maybe it always was really and I’m getting too pedantic, but decent behaviour on everyone’s part would be norm worth having. In fact it would be fabulous! 22/1/2021 01:14:46 pm
And we should remember that the validity of that news depends upon the teller and their point of view.

Yes. As sincere and well-intentioned as the BBC news reporters are in aiming to convey the news accurately, I have found the level of alarm with which it's been reported, over the last few months, unhelpful.

I do so agree with decent behavior being expected from our leaders and behavior has been ridiculous in the last 4 years. I think I fear philosophies even more than I do behavior. But that’s another story for other places and I do love you precious women.
