Simply..owling....

Working in Coronation Wood this morning I was on the path approaching the owl box which our local bird of prey expert Arthur French put up last June.

I pointed up to the box and said 'I wonder if..' when out flew a big tawny owl!

I was so excited.

It made my day.

Oh fantastic! Are you close enough to hear them calling at night? We have them here, I love just lying in bed listening to them. Female too-wit, male too-woo.

My favourite thing Jessica is a deep hot bath and a candle or two on a winter's night with the window open to hear the owls hooting in the forest. Magic!

Wow it was right on cue! In the past have seen owls flying close by and they are still treasured memories.Sarah x

I have one other memory of an owl flying slowly and silently over my head. Treasured indeed Sarah.
