Yesterday's photograph reminded me of one of my late husband's favourite poems

Glory be to God for dappled things Gerard Manley Hopkins.

And from poets to painters - if you live near enough to Harrogate don't miss the wonderful exhibition by my friend Caroline Bailey. Caroline lives and works on Skye and paints brilliant landscapes and the most lively and vibrant flower still lifes.

This is the first time I have referred to Barry as my late husband - an odd expression is it not?

We happened to be in Harrogate yesterday and saw your friend's exhibition from he window anyway. The Flowers on black and white particularly stood out although all the paintings were all bright and cheery. Some others were looking in the window at the same time and admiring the paintings.

Such colourful and vibrant paintings for Caroline, thanks for the link.
I know what you mean about using 'late' regarding your husband; it seems so strange. The term I found almost insulting was to be referred to in legal documents as the "relict of X"

I remember we saw some of Caroline Bailey's work at the RSW Exhibition back in 2019. Love her use of colour.

Enjoyed looking at the exhibition and love the vibrant colours. Thank you. I also liked Barry's choice of poetry and love the way you mention him in your posts . We have some very strange terms for talking about bereavement and loss , almost as if it's a taboo subject .
