Simply..resilient....

The tulips are standing up very well to the wind and the rain. They are big flowers on sturdy stems and are also packed close together which may help.

I'm very interested in the idea of reilience in people as well as plants. The programme Dan Cruickshank's Warsaw, a History Ressurected is on iPlayer for just a couple more days. It is both a touching memoir and a story of incredible resilience. I thought it was beautifully made and inspiring. Have any of you seen it?

Your tulips do look to be flourishing and I, certainly, find it is daffodils that are much more likely to be broken by the wind than tulips. Resilience is an underrated quality and often after listening to some poor soul's dreadful experience I wonder how they carry on but the fact they pick themselves up to try again fills me with admiration.

I think the dark one is a parrot tulip and I am watching it with great interest

Because we live on a windswept hillside our tulips are grown in pots as yours are and yes , they are sturdy in all weathers. The poor crocuses are likewise in pots ,but have suffered badly this year with hail ,rain ,and wind flattening them and damaging all the flower heads .
I've not seen the programme you mention but I think that most people are far stronger and more resilient in adversity than we anticipate.

Crocus are such delicate things. It’s sad to see them spoiled. We see peoples resilience everywhere but it seems we really comment on it or admire it.

Simply..resilient....
