Simply..Rosa 'Freda Anne'....

Vanity I know, but I've always thought it would be a wonderful thing to have a flower named after me.

A chance seedling rose which appeared in my garden may be my opportunity!

It is a white flowered Rosa glauca. Here is one of its parents -

This is rosa glauca with its single pink flowers. The new shrub (photographs tomorrow) has the beautiful glaucous foliage, and corymbs of white flowers - very like the flowers on a rambler grown by my neighbour......

are you saying that this plant is a natural hybrid?..and that you could name it after yourself? how simply delightful!

Yes, and yes I think so - though if you want to register the name there are hoops to go through....:-)

Assuming the hoops aren't too crazy, it would be a fun thing to do. And then you could provide cuttings to all your family and friends so your namesake would always be close to them.

How lovely to have something unique in the garden (as well as yourself obviously!) - looking forward to seeing Rosa Freda Anne.
By the way, make the most of the next couple of weeks of summer - according to Egg, 'Winter is coming on August 6th' !!!

How exquisite to have a flower named after you! I didn't know it was possible, but I'm totally saying go for it. Rosa Freda Ann sounds lovely.
