There's something about sitting for an hour and a half

on your favourite rock on a warm day

that makes you feel all is well, and life is worth living.

Stones to slide down the rock face. Listen to the sound as they hit the water - plop boom vloop schlop plip high pitched low pitched, big splash tiny splash heavy light hard soft sticks long thin wide narrow float sink tide in tide out which is it skimming building balancing wet dry creatures ducks arrowheads cavemen ammonites fossils food drink smell wind sun  seeing the world in a grain of sand I've drunk all my water I'm thirsty can we go home now

ok

It is such gentle fun to be both paricipant and observer. No room for worries.

Various thoughts ...
What good company for both.
I like the concept of a 'favourite rock'. I like the 'seam' of orange peel.
Your child' view of the day is poetic. Do you write poetry? Might you submit this one? A book of a child's view of days out, with image poems and painting?

I do have a go at Haiku every now and then (I tried writing one a week in the month or two before Christmas last year.) You do have some lovely ideas Susan!

The final photo with the orange peel looks like an Andy Goldsworthy art piece! Everything back into perspective today by the sound of things.

Here is a quote by a friend of mine: “if i had known grandchildren were going to be this much fun, i’d have had them first!” Mine are my greatest joy!
There can be great healing in being with small children, can’t there?
