Hyacinths.

Heavenly.

They remind me of my mother.

The smell of dahlias reminds me of my father.

Sweet peas remind me of Aunt Peggy.

What are you smelling, and what or who or where does the smell remind you of?

Roses. I love most flowers and the pictures on your blog are heavenly, however, a lot of them make my sneeze. Some are worse than others. Outdoors in the garden is usually okay, but the minute most flowers make it into my house, signs of a mild allergy flare up.

Roses are the exception among scented flowers and so they are my absolute favourite. I happen to love the smell as well!

Dahlias and my father too! He grew them. I like the strange smell but I didn't really like the rather greasy look of them or the earwig traps. My mother sent an enormous bunch of sweet peas to the hospital when I had my first baby. This was very extravagant as it was early spring. I don't know how she found them.

My father grew them, and chrysanthemume, on his allotment. What a lovely (if unseasonal) association with sweet peas!

The smell of box hedges immediately takes me back to my Grampy's garden. He moved house when I was four so it's one of my earliest memories.
The smell of proper tomatoes (not ones flown in from Spain!) reminds me of my Dad's greenhouse. When I was little I would take bites out of them whilst they were still on the vine. I could never understand how he knew I'd been in the greenhouse!

Spices! They always remind of my grandmother's (and her cooking's!)

PS: On yesterday's post, about the fireflies:

How kind of you to send that link - which led to another, which led....isn't the internet wonderful?

Freshly baked bread. Coming from our kitchen, just now. Camping in France, fresh croissants each morning.
