Simply..smiling....

What made you smile today?

While weeding in the garden I found my favourite pair of sunglasses which I lost  two summers ago! And lthey are perfectly ok!

The second batch of sweet peas are germinating. (The first one produced two seedlings out of about 18 seeds.) The first thing I do in the morning is look in the propagator and this brought a big smile to my face.

Yesterday's pickings from the garden produced all these little posies and instead of scattering them around the house I put them all in a row down the middle of the table, which meant I had to deal with all the clutter that had accumulated there. It made me smile once it was done!

The wonderful weather continues. Sunshine always makes me smile.

Lovely row of posies - it is nice to bring the outside in. It must have been like finding buried treasure discovering your sunglasses. I hunted high and low for a pair of reading glasses this week - DH joined in and we searched the garden too. Found them unexpectedly this morning in my dressing gown pocket!

I lost a little mother of pearl penknife when I was a child. I dropped it while sitting in an apple tree and even though I climbed down and searched immediately I never found it. I think I’m must get another one and try to end the search. I’m glad you found your sunglasses. Someone else reported finding a bundle of favourite fabrics after many years. I was very happy for her too.
I’m still looking for a scarab beetle brooch that a visiting child lost in our garden. She is grown now but I have never stopped looking for it.

They stay with you these lost things. An enamel brooch lost in Kelvingrove Art Gallery, a lovely spoon lost on the beach...I’ve stopped looking for the brooch but every time I am on the beach..

The other night I was missing the 4th double pointed knitting needle I just had not 10 seconds earlier. I searched between the couch cushions, around & under the couch & even pulled the cushions off the couch. No luck. I got another needle that size so I could continue knitting. About an hour later, I felt a bug on my neck. Nope...I'd tucked that needle behind my ear & it was working loose. I found my missing needle. 😊

So pleased you found your sunglasses, Freda, it is like receiving a gift. I once lost a ring while gardening, no great value but I was very fond of it and despite searching for ages could not find it. The next year while going over the same bed I dug it up and I was elated but I wear gloves to garden now. Will concentrate on the delight of finding my runner beans have germinated. I had given up hope as it was pretty old seed but there is no thrill like it to me when a green shoot pushes through.

I am glad you found your ring Sheena. The little miracle of a seed germinating always sparks joy!
