Simply..spring into summer....

The warm summery weather here seems at odds with what is happening in the wider world, and it's hard to know what to write about....a disturbing disconnect.

There are butterflies around, I have strung up the bunting and had an afternoon nap in the hammock, but an air of unreality hangs around, and wonderful though social media is in these circumstances I long for the real contact with friends and family.

This article which starts with the news that half a million people have recovered from coronavirus has a lot of interesting facts and figures...

Life is totally surreal at the moment. The fact that nature is just carrying on doing its thing makes it seem even stranger. It is so hard to imagine the awful things that are happening in hospitals and how difficult it is for people with different lives to my privileged one whilst the sun is shining.
The link is brilliant. I keep trying to counterbalance the awful statistics I come across with the positives. I gave up watching and listening to the news when Britain began its lockdown !

The articles are marvelous, Freda..thank you for the link..i plan to make that my daily newspaper reading today..we all need more good news!
I just saw on TV that sea turtles are thriving in thailand now that the beaches are closed! And we are certainly noticing clearer air and less noise pollution here.
Humanity has an opportunity to assess how quickly our mother earth is recovering, once we all stop the circus! But will that happen?
And i can completely understand your feeling about :what to blog about?” We all are used to talking about our “doings”! Maybe we will all stop and go back to being “beings”...:-) my friends ask me: what are you up to? I feel embarrassed to say: nothing! But it’s kind of true...not much, really.. and in our productive world, is it enough to just BE?
Well, i did not mean to take over your blog..but you did cause me to think! Thank you for that.

I always say there is plenty of toom here Julia! Do I blog about my privileged life? I have never been more aware of how privileged I am. Do I blog about the situation - what could I possibly add? As for the future.....who can predict!!!

You are so right, Freda. I can only speak for myself, but i am living in a bubble of privilege; and i have no problems. I am very worried about small businesses, and people in long lines at food banks. I’m worried about people who cannot get medical care, while we put covid patients first. I don’t have answers! Charles Eisenstein writes beautifully about all of this.
