There is a 2 minute video of the exhibition I mentioned yesterday here

Architecture was a compulsory subject when I was at GSA. I'm so glad I studied it - it led to a lifelong interest, and later to study in Landscape Architecture.

Architect Steven Holl gets up at 6.30 am to do these tiny watercolours (another 'lark'). It's quite exciting to look at them then walk across the road and see the huge real thing!

It was very nice to see the video, to understand how the exhibition was done, and hearing Steven Holl mention wanting to create a dialogue. I find the watercolours fascinating, as much so as the pencil groundplan sketches of churches by Saenredam which I saw exhibited earlier in the year, and beautiful as a seperate work of art.

There is a painting in Kelvingrove Art Gallery (where we were last night) by Saenredam - Interior of St Bavo's - which aI have always loved. I didn't know there were drawings of his extant..how lovely!
