Unlike most of the country we have had a few clear and calm sunny days. So beautuful.

This is currently for sale. Fabulous position on the shores of Loch Long. The beach above is just below the house.

Any takers?

After the Immersive Van Gogh experience, today I was immersed in the wonderful music of pianist Edward jCohen at the University of Glasgow where he played an unusual programme - here is part of the description from the notes...

Today's recital consists of pieces that have been chosen to move seamlessly from one to the next, without pause. Movements of exotic 20th century works, alternate with gems from the Romantic era....

(Liszt, Mompou,Brahms,Rautavaara,Schumann, and Hovhaness. I didn't recognize a thing but it was utterly marvellous!)

We have been so lucky in the west of Scotland blessed with perfect autumn days and spectacular sunrises. I always imagine that living in a house in such a position must lift your spirits and soothe your soul. Just like your concert really, Freda.

A smorgasbord of musical tidbits. What a marvellous idea.

Although being happy where we are now, would we have won this week's Dutch lottery we probably would be seriously considering moving house. Living near Loch Long easily would have made the list.

Not at all related. My computer is in repairs (one week gone, still three to go) because to go by the sound it started to make, it has an identity crisis and wants to be an airplane. Working on a laptop isn't always easy for me thus for some time it will be 'now you see me, now you don't.'

How very frustrating! We will enjoy seeing you when you can make it and good luck with that repair Cath.

We are indeed lucky! You could be ultra minimalist in this house Julia - you would be looking at the views most of the time anyway..

Envying your sunny weather! Yes yes yes to property if it comes with sunshine and enough grazing for my girls! For several years I went to lunchtime recitals at Warwick university and enjoyed a huge variety of music that had not been on my radar before .Thanks for sharing your sunny weather.

It has turned cold now but was lovely while it lasted. Would love to know more about your girls MaryB (This house has no land to speak of - just rocks!)

Just four elderly goats now.! They're a source of much delight , affection and amusement although they were originally bred to be a source of fibre!

I live nowhere spectacular at all, Freda, but in a quite ordinary three bed semi in Bearsden. However, it is blessed with open views to the east and the Campsie Fells plus there are lots of mature trees in the gardens all around. Always something to look at and marvel at the beauty that is if you can ignore the planes, going into Glasgow Airport, overhead.

I grew up in Knightswood Sheena, not far from where you are and also on the flight path to Glasgow airport.. That was in the 60s and 70s. There must be a lot more planes going in and out these days. Bearsden is realky rather nice though, and the countryside within easy reach.

It is so nice to learn a little more about you (MaryBs goats!). I grew up in Oatlands on the south Side of Glasgow and later lived over the Campsie Hills near Kippen.
