I've never done it but often thought about it. When I get my house into a fit state to be inhabited by anyone else I will definitely be tempted! Does anyone want to swap their home on a sunny tropical island for the English countryside from October to March?! Have a lovely time Freda. :-)

We agreed to keep it simple - clean bed, clean bath, basics in fridge...(though of course we did a bit extra!).

Never swapped too. Did stay in a (second) house of a friend in Ireland on my own for a longer time though, which was very nice. Wishing you a lovely time in a city you love.

Never did it too. I suspect I would feel weird in the beginning as I've never stayed at a friend's house without them being there. But I love the idea! Lotta, all I could offer is hot like hell summers and freezing cold winters... but if you ever wish for that, just say so... :)

OK, I admit I read what I want to see & what I saw was 'York City'. Immediately jumped to...FREDA'S COMING TO NEW YORK CITY!! How can I get there to meet up with her? Then I read the actual words she wrote. No NYC...at least not this time. Enjoy your time in York...know anyone in New York who'd like to trade houses? I'll meet you there. lol!!

OLD YORK! I have never been to NYC but will tell you for sure if I am coming Cathy! I have only swapped in UK but people do swap all over the world....
