Simply..tears and joys....

I am doing a lot of crying, but there is always something to make you laugh, like Extreme Knitting (scroll down as well as across), or to make you relax like the heatwave we have been having, or to make you gasp in delight, like the bluebells on the path to the shore..

The tears come even with good news as the first thing I do is to look round for Barry to tell him, to share it with him.

I find some of these meditations helpful and this article, and this piece on heartbreak...If you are also grieving after a loss I hope they help you too.

Thank you Karen and Angela for leading me to these websites!
More on the garden coming soon....

Welcome back Freda. I remember reading something helpful (Elaine Aron maybe?) that said to cry as much as you can, and to hold something soft against your chest - a pillow, soft toy etc because it helps you feel safe enough and comforted enough to let go into it. It really does help. I bought myself a soft toy rabbit with long floppy ears... He still sits on the bed! I'm glad you've had some warmth and beauty to sustain you too. Stunning bluebells! Hugs x

Heartbreak and crying go hand in hand. To have lost a love so dear--how else could you respond? With sorrow for the loss and yet joy for remembrance of the gift of that love. Samuel Beckett's line was right, "I can't go on. I'll go on." xo

I do appreciate that Beckett line.

I am somewhat hesitant to send you this since you are an artist, but I thought of you when I saw this article in the NY Times this morning...I won't send the link, but it is under their Health-Well section entitled, "Coloring Your Way Through Grief" (Jane Brody), if you are interested.

Yes, there is that familiar urge to share the joys and sorrows, the good news and the bad....the warmth and sharing of connection to the beloved.

Lovely to have you back Freda. I've been thinking about you and wondering how you are. How touching that even in your sadness you can still find beauty in the natural world. I hope you can take comfort in it. It will always there for you .

I have always said that beauty sustains me, and am now finding that to be true. Kind comments also sustain me Gillie. Thank you.
