Hot here too.
The long grass of your banner evokes happy memories of Sissinghurst which I - almost ashamed to say- don´t so much remember for the gardens but for a meadow...
Sissinghurst meadow is fabulous! A lot more gardens are growing meadows and doing more naturalistic planting I'm glad to say. Did you visit Great Dixter too? Christopher Lloyd wrote a lovely book on meadows.
black petunias are an absolute favorite of mine! glorious!
I was thinking of putting them with magenta ones next year...
I know the feeling! My brain cells seem to have gone on holiday without me and are sitting in a deckchair somewhere sunning themselves and sipping cool drinks... they send a postcard every now and then to remind me of their existence, but they are in no state for a proper workout... :-)
But today I'm tracking them down and joining them!
It was cooler today and my brain is coming back to life I think!
Great Dixter is new to me. I am going to visit the website later. Christopher Lloyd is new as well, loving reading nature books now a name I want to add to my reading list.
Sissinghurst meadow I often revisit when I have difficulty sleeping!
You are in for a treat. Christopher Lloyd and Beth Chatto jointly wrote a book Dear Friend and Gardener which you might enjoy Cath..
Have you visited York Gate which is actually near Leeds - their little book which is partly a journal of the people who once owned it is really enjoyable. I will look out for the book mentioned above.
I do like York Gate but have not seen the book Viv.
