Decor that is wintry but not Christmassy...
Picture

I like the neutral colours after all the bright red and green

Picture

A garland of white foxes!

Picture

There is a tiny Santa on his sleigh in this little painting (but he is on his way back home).

Picture
The first daffodills thrill me.

Picture

Hot plums, toasted flaked almonds and cream.

Loving the print with the pine bough. Is it a Dee Nickerson by any chance? I too enjoy the quiet colours. Winter is the time to appreciate these subtle tones I think. They appeal to my desire for tranquility even in years when we are not facing the current levels of confusion and overload...

It is by Dee Nickerson and goes by the lovely title of Flurry of Joy. Tranquility in our surroundings helps us stay sane and can only be good!

After removing all Xmas decorations, I've left strings of white lights on the mantel and atop two other pieces of furniture--one each in the living room and dining room. Most of the time no other lights are put on in those rooms giving them a warm glow.
But then, I spend most of my day in my office with only desk lights on (mine and 6 yr old GS while virtual schooling). :)

Mary you have conjured up a beautiful image for me of a home where positive and good things are happening every day. Thank you for that.

Hi Freda, Lovely chatting with you yesterday.... I remember you making us the hot plums with vanilla when we visited you and Barry, it is still one of Daves favourites.
Love Lesley xx when ever I say "when we" I smile and think of Freda & Barry and the 'When weeeeees' xx

All five of these photos are encouraging and uplifting. 'A picture says a thousand words.' Thank you, Freda.

I do agree that a picture tells a thousand words, but my new computer is down and I may not be able to post any for a while....
I am glad you like these - I love taking them.

Just looking at your photos makes me feel all cosy! Is the Santa painting one of yours? We only got our Christmas tree on 24th (a real bargain at 5 euros!) and decided to leave it up until tomorrow. I will keep out the strings of white lights and candles to brighten our evenings.

Yes Grace, it’s one of my paintings.
Candles and cosines definitely still required here!

The fox Garland was a little IKEA find many years ago. Lovely to see you back blogging though I can see you may not have much time for it!
