 The season slowly changing - the swallows gathering, the berries ripening, the butterflies (at last!) flitting around the late flowers. What are you watching? (I'd like to pass on a compliment I heard lately. Someone spoke to me of 'the great group of women who comment frequently on your blog.' I couldn't agree more, so thank you all for the thoughtfulness, generosity and kindness of your comments. I really appreciate and value it.)

While we sat out on the porch swing this evening, we watched the swallows gather & fly about. We wondered if we went inside would they come closer to the house & eat all the bugs we could see in the air. We went in, but they didn't come closer. Darn! That was the end of that experiment.

It's too hot here to be comfortable outside for long periods of time, unfortunately, unless you can find a spot in the shade with a breeze. It's close to 40C with humidity -- a bit unusual for Eastern Canada at this time of year. It has been a hot summer -- perhaps a record-breaking one.

i am watching loon families, training their young to dive for food on their own. and also the canada geese, who are now flying overhead regularly in large v-formations, honking and sounding like: silly geese!!
