But the life affirming job is done and now I'd better wash my face, light the fire and cook some breakfast.
What do you do to lift your spirits whem you feel low? All ideas most welcome!
..there comes a point when I have to do something to lift my mood. When I woke this morning I remembered a gift of sweet pea seeds . I would plant them! Yes! So before I did anything else I made a cup of hot chocolate and went out to the shed and the greenhouse, full of good intentions. I couldn't find the seeds at first - they were not where I thought they were, then it took several frustrating minutes and an old knife to get the lid off the tin.. Cupani sweet peas - very highly scented. Thank you Lynne. The compost was hard and lumpy and had to be sieved. and my habds were so cold it was difficult to handle the seeds.

Go outside for a walk, call a friend, think of 5 things I am grateful for, eat healthy.

For me: moving my body (walking, dancing, swimming), making something with my hands (as you have done, above; for me: sewing), relishing others' creativity (some sublime musicianship for you, in the link above), and checking into your blog, Freda.

Listen to an edition of Just a Minute on BBC Sounds. It can always make me laugh out loud which gives a good burst of mood lifting endorphins.

Move - go outside for a walk (beside water if possible), get on my yoga mat, turn out a drawer or cupboard, etc. Whatever I do, trying to be aware of my breath and work with it to calm myself.

My way to lift my spirits is to be outdoors , taking a gentle walk in natural surroundings preferably with a big view. Sometimes I might walk along the coast path or go walking on the hills where I can see expansive views . Perhaps also looking at the night sky helps.

Thank you all for sharing your ideas here. I suspect we all need some support of this kind.

I have also sown some sweet pea seeds and they have already germinated... exciting! Clearing out cupboards and drawers also lifts my spirits, as does reading your blog - thank you!
