Simply..winter plans....

12/11/2019

To embrace the cold outside (great health bennefits I am told...)

To enjoy being snug inside - woodburner/candles/cushions and throws.

To eat great food and not put on weight. Quite a challenge.

To enjoy every minute of the run up to Christmas and totally ignore the hype.

I plan to make a list of twenty things......

I plan to make a difference in my own home and life each day...just like flylady...one small change...clean out a cupboard and wipe it down, or vacuum the upholstery. take a box of toiletries and towels to the homeless shelter. My moving forward from marie kondo to swedish death cleaning. That and read for pleasure each day.

You won't have to spring clean!

What a cheery dressing gown! I plan to avoid, ignore, distance myself from all the hype and to try to make Christmas as quiet and simple as possible. I think the eating v weight issue is tricky! Its nibbling that tempts me! I'm not keen on lists right now cus in my latest batch of decluttering I came across 2 lists from 2007 2008 and EVERYTHING on them still needed doing ! Shock horror... So I am having an anti list making spell.

Mary B..i am laughing out loud...i am going thru my mother’s things and there are lists and lists..all dated, like yours..and they say things like:
1988, do this!
1999 REALLY DO THIS!
2007 TOO LATE!

MaryB andJulia, you have both really cheered me up. I’m a great one for lists, but I , too ,always discover that if I find an old one I still haven’t done much, if anything, on it 😂Still might try a nice things list , rather than a needs doing list!

I can see that would put you off lists!

Lovely colourful dressing gown. Tempting to be wearing it all day?

Not twenty, but I will join you with a few:
Spreading out decorating for Christmas like I did last year, one item a day from 6th of December onwards. I so much enjoyed that.
Trying out two new recipes before the end of the year, would be great if they could be stored in the freezer also. I have this very boring diet.
Taking time to 'rethink' our kitchen, also before the end of the year
to make it more age sustainable. It is small and crowded.

This will be it, hope to see the rest of your list. It might bring more ideas.

I think I will join you on this. I will start by treating myself to a new dressing gown (after seeing yours!). Mine is a dingy grey, ten years old and looking the worse for wear. I need to give myself time to think about the rest.

I too had a dingy grey one and was given money to buy a new one last Christmas! It took me till this week to find one I liked! Good luck.

Hmm....
Embrace the cold? Yes, well, just not too closely.
Snuggle up? Not a problem.
Eat great food and not gain weight? I'm doomed
Enjoy run up to Christmas w/o hype? I can do that. Been ignoring the hype for years.
Make a list of twenty things? Yes, as long as it only fun stuff and doesn't involve cleaning or clearing out anything...(see MaryB and others above; add me to their lists of lists).

And, unlike your new lovely, colourful, cozy dressing gown, I just purchased a lightweight jersey one for travel. Sigh. In sober solid black. ;)

I, too, got a new robe (dressing gown) but mine is solid white terry cloth. it taking some getting used to...it's so fluffy because it's new I feel like a bear wearing it. and both belt loops are attached! it was way past time for a new one, but my old one had so much character. this one needs broken in. lol!

not even thinking about Christmas. we're in the beginning stages of an almost 500 mile move right after the holidays...i'm spending my time sorting, tossing & packing. no more lunches w Julia. :(

Well I had to go upstairs and look at the label just now and Yes! Cyberjammies - what a trendy sounding name for such a traditional garment! How did you know that?

As soon as I saw your picture, I remembered I had promised myself a new one for winter - then I started searching online. Came across it on John Lewis site...x

PennyL - Weebly clearly isn't used to commenters who talk to each other which is why I am down here at the end! Good luck with your nice things list - that's the best kind.
