I have a nunber of neglected acers in pots which I am now rescuing - repotting, pruning and keeping moist in a shady place until they are fit to go into the garden.
On the way stopping to smell the vanilla sugar scented clematis 'Elizabeth' which grows on the shed.
Then I set up the work

And it was still early. I felt I had stolen a march on the day!
