Sinply..who am I?

I may get into the deep existential questions later, but right now I am looking at the clothes I have with a dispassionate eye.

STEP THREE I am making this step as easy as possible by suspending judgement and postponing decisions on what to do with these items. So, all I am doing in this step is removing from the wardrobe, for now, all the things I do not wear.

One muddle sorted! I had a lovely day in the garden yesterday. Do you think maybe life is just sorting out muddles, one after another?!

I like your Who am I, now' question.
Also, the question, Who/how would I like to be for the next while?
How do I want to be?
What activities do I really want to do & need clothes for.

I do search for and glean qualities, in demeanour, from women who I meet and find inspirational.
Also, from actors, film and book characters, R4 & BBC interviewees, documentary makers, artists.
And from the historic sewing community online, who dress as they wish, despite their local cultural norms.

Such good questions, Susan in Dorset. And so many rich sources of inspiration available to us. All making how we dress such an interesting topic!

It certainly looks as if you had a very productive day in the garden and I sometimes find that a solution, to something else entirely, pops up after time spent working outside. What my wardrobe tells me is I have way too many gardening clothes and a plan for "outfits" might be a good idea before I buy anything else.
Your quinces look wonderful, Freda, and will smell delicious. The ones in my garden always drop off before they ripen, very disappointing.

Oh yes, we too many gardening clothes here too! We too many others as well! Gardening in the sun was so lovely.

Youtuber “The Minimal Mom” puts your step 3 items into a “time will tell” box and puts a future date on the box. If by that date she hasn’t pulled out anything, then whole box goes straight to donation. I have very rarely and judiciously done this. It works for me.

Like Sheena I have way too many gardening/chores or scruffy clothes, which do serve a useful purpose, but I don't need so many.
I've cleared the muddle that was outside my wardrobe - a space that had become a dumping ground and is now pleasingly clear. Excess scruffy stuff bagged up ready to go to recycling tomorrow.
An interesting benefit of all this clearing is that my partner has started to declutter as well - with no prompting. See what you've started, Freda?!
