So good that you have the photographs to remind you of those golden moments. The exultation in the garden days when everything comes together and the vision you carry in your head is there in front of you is such a blessing and yours is truly beautiful. Holding on to that vision in January and February, however, is challenging especially when time spent outside is full of garden housework, everything is damp and soggy and the fox has dug up the snowdrops again. I keep telling myself this too will pass and come May and June I will be complaining about the watering. You will love your garden again, Freda.

Thank you for this Sheena. You express what I expect many of us are feeling. Garden housework is a very good term! I hope those annoying foxes don’t actually destroy the snowdrops.

I loved that photo in the original post . It captured a magical moment. It's difficult to look at our garden in grey muddy February without a feeling that the workload is insurmountable and it will never be beautiful again . Your idea of looking at precious moments of beauty from seasons past is a brilliant one . I don't believe gardeners every truly fall out of love with their garden , after all it's a place of treasured memories.
